Willie Clay Jones Jr. "A father, friend, and a man of God"
Willie Clay Jones Jr, age 54, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2020, at 1:09 am. He was born on January 12, 1966, in Lake Placid, Florida. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, who loved to laugh and talk about the Lord with everyone he came in contact with. He was an independent over the road and local truck driver for over 20 years, and always had stories to share about his travels. Willie loved Walmart, Gander Mountain, and Dick's stores- anything to do with fishing and hunting. He loved participating at church, leading prayer and doing security. He was a founding member at Remnant For Christ Ministries, where he lead with his family. He always said, "God has you, don't worry about nothing". Willie was a very private man, but he would give you the shirt off his back and open his door to you.
He will be joining his heavenly home with his mother Minnie Jones, best friend Roderick Davis, and a host of other loved ones. Willie will be missed and cherished by his father Willie Jones Sr. of Sebring, FL, grandmother Janie L. Jones of South Carolina, sister Regina Jones Burton Owen of Sebring, FL, brother James Jones of Lake Placid, FL, former spouse Barbara Horton of Columbus, OH, children LaShayla Hazelwood and Tre'Shawn Hazelwood of Columbus, OH, Virjivia Britt of Tampa, FL, Chavz Gammage of St. Petersburg, FL, Montrel Wallace of Waynesboro, GA, special nephew Kaetwon Lowe of Lake Placid, FL, a host of grandchildren, long time friend Daisy Wallace of Georgia, and many more loving family members and friends.
A memorial service to honor him will be performed at one of his favorite fishing locations in Columbus, Ohio at a later date, with his family and friends celebrating his life with a balloon lift.
