William Hughes

William Nelson Hughes passed away on September 25, 2021 in the comfort of his home, after a 3 year battle with Non Small Cell lung cancer. Nelson enjoyed baseball games, music, playing his guitar, playing video games with friends, and spending time with family and friends. He had a great love for God. He was the kindest person, a good and loyal friend, a wonderful husband, father, and Pawpaw.

He is survived by his wife Theresa, children Adam Hughes, and Faith (Dan) Heider, stepchildren Chelsea (Justin) Miller, and Mike (Chris) Van Paepeghem, grandchildren Nicole, Bentley, Madison, Freyja, and Gideon, brothers Charlie (Mary) Hughes and Ira Hughes, brother-in-law Joe Asher, sister-in-law Melissa (Ron) Fauver, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Vivian, and sisters Linda and Dinah.

The family will receive guests on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 11 am to 12 pm, with the service beginning at 12 pm at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home Clintonville Chapel, 4341 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43214. A graveside service will follow at 1pm at Union Cemetery 3349 Olentangy River Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43202. Immediately following the graveside service there will be a wake at The Canterbury, 3440 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43202- please park in the Khol's parking lot. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Mt. Carmel Hospice.
