William Carl Martin

November 18, 1925 — January 13, 2024

William C Martin, 98, of Pickerington Ohio, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 13, 2024; with his daughter at his side at Kobacker house. Bill was a lifelong member of the church of Christ. He was very proud of his military service. He was a radio man in World War II and received an honorable discharge in May of 1946. Bill loved his country and prayed daily for its recovery. He was an excellent writer and often composed letters to government officials with his suggestions for "fixing things". He was also a lover of puzzles, crosswords, and playing cards. Bill was a voracious reader typically reading 12 books in three weeks time. Bill retired from the vending industry and then was a courier for Hamilton Kramer law firm. He would often take his grandkids with him to work and they would enjoy parading around downtown together. He was also the president of the Clippers Booster Club multiple times. Bill was a devoted husband and a beloved grandfather. He resided with his daughter the last 12 years when he could no longer live alone. Kim cherishes the memories that were made during this time. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Annabelle Martin, and two brothers, Robert and John Martin. His wife of 69 years, Marilyn Uhrig Martin in 1997. Recently proceeded in death by his son-in-law, Thomas Willis. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Martin Willis, and his four grandchildren; Ryan A Willis, Joel M Willis, Jonathan M Willis all of Columbus, and Sarah (Elessio) Willis Garcia of Medford, Massachusetts. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
