William Compton

William Doyle Compton entered into rest October 2, 2018. He was born April 13, 1942, to Chester Graham and Virginia Katherine (Edens). He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Rebecca Rozella (Roberts), and his first wife Kathryn Ann (Harrison). He is survived by his brothers David and Glenn; his children Danny, Sherry (Robin), Teresa, Robin, Evalyn, William Jr. (Amanda), and Virginia; his five grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

William had a charismatic character. William went by the nick name “Wild Bill”, that he lived to the fullest. William greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing from the bank or a boat with a Zebco 33 rod and reel in hand. William also enjoyed traveling to Johnson City, TN to visit his parents and extended family.

The last ten years of William’s life was plagued by several medical conditions. Two years ago, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer that spread to his bones. He showed great strength and courage during this time. He always remained optimistic and never gave up hope. Right to the very end, he fought hard. He entered into rest with his family by his side, holding his hand. He was an inspiration to us all, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. May William find peace and rest in the afterlife. May God rest your soul Wild Bill.
