Wayne B. Owens Jr, beloved husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle and friend, age 54 of Xenia, passed away Thursday December 10, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. Wayne battled cancer for several years and showed resilience, strength, and determination to the end. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to Wayne and Patsy Owens. He is survived by his beloved wife Beth Owens of 30 years; daughters Brittany Shoemaker (Zach) and Amanda Landis (Andy); grandchildren Blake Owens; Riah, Zeke, and Noah Shoemaker; Hunter, Owen and Alivia Landis. Sisters, Sue Fisher and Debbie Baker (Clint); sister-in-law Laura Aldridge (David); Life long friend Lori Chenoweth; multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents Wayne and Patsy Owens, brother in law Jeff Fisher, nephews Jeff Fisher Jr and Kevin Fisher, and mother-in-law Nancy Curtis.
Wayne loved spending time with his family and was an avid sports fan. He loved watching Ohio State football but most of all he loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Each summer he spent time with his family at Lake Cumberland driving his Checkmate boat and playing on the water. He loved riding trails on his Razor with his side by side family in “God’s Country”. Wayne looked forward to yearly trips to Florida with his wife Beth visiting his friend Phil. Wayne also enjoyed horses, driving semi’s, working on endless projects both indoor and outdoor, and was known as “Tim Allen the Tool Man.” Wayne could make a friend anywhere and talk to anyone for hours. He was grateful for the many friendships he made throughout the years both at Holland and SuperValu. Wayne wanted more than anything for his body to be donated to science in hopes to save someone else’s life and was accepted to the Ohio State Donor Program. At this time there will be no service, but a celebration of life will be planned for a future date. Donations can also be made to NETCANCERAWARENESS.ORG in memory of a wonderful man who will be missed by so many. The family would like to thank his nurse David from Kettering Home Care and the staff from Crossroads Hospice for the love and care they showed to both Wayne and his family.
