Walter Swider

Walter J. Swider Jr., 91 passed away the 5th of January 2021at his home in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by "the love of his life" wife Patricia of 70 years and family. His funeral services will be held at a later date due to COVID-19, along with a virtual celebration of his life in the coming weeks.

Survived by: Loving wife Patricia Swider, Adored Sister: Geraldine Fosnaugh Children: Gary Swider, Susan (John) Kaloz, Paul (Kimberly) Swider, Kathleen (Mike) Goodman, Marie (William) Raisig, Karl (Melissa) Swider

6 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren

Preceded by: Marie Swider (Mother), Walter Swider Sr. (Father) and Robert Swider (Brother) Walter was born February 5th 1929 in Detroit Michigan to loving parents Marie and Walter

Swider Sr. He married Patricia Nabozny on March 11, 1950. They have 6 children.

His family paid tribute to him, "Walter" will be missed and his larger-than-life personality will never be forgotten. Our gratitude for his selfless love in all he provided and shared with us is beyond measure.

Walter built a successful sales career with WWJ-TV, J.L. Hudson, United McGill, OM Scott and American Retail Promotions. He was the first sales person hired at OM Scott and spent 20 years of his career with the organization.

Walter made you feel like you were the most important person in the room, which contributed to the success of his career.

He was a lifetime member of Saint Timothy Church. Where he enjoyed participating and sharing his time in the church choir and playing his beloved violin in services. He had the fortune of playing his violin at the Detroit Fox Theatre in the play "The man who came to dinner".  With a passion for flying, he became a licensed private pilot, sharing many memorable trips with his family throughout the years.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the Hospice Clinical Team and Healthcare Providers that cared for Walter.

A memorial service will be held for Patricia and Walter on October 26, 2021 at St. Joseph's Cemetery Chapel, 6440 S High St, Lockbourne, OH 43137, at 11 am.
