It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wali Elohim Shabazz, also known as Lamont Lee Chambers, on 1/11/2025, at the age of 49. Wali was born on 10/18/1975 in Columbus, Ohio, to Pamela Day and the late Leroy Mullins.
Wali was an energetic, fun, loving man, who enjoyed staying fit and spending time with family, especially with his younger nephews.
He had a passion for spreading knowledge and sharing words of wisdom. Wali was very health-conscious and an aspiring Fitness Consultant. He was honest with strong moral principles, a man of full body, mind and integrity. He loved to read educational books and make creative writings in his journal. Sitting on the porch, on a warm sunny day, immersing himself in the sound of music, brought him so much joy. Wali seemed to have found the secret to unending optimism and generously spread joy and rays of sunshine in the lives of everyone who knew him.
Despite the many obstacles he had faced throughout life, he was a true lover of life and he remained determined until the very end.
He leaves behind his mother Pamela Day, his three sisters Melodie Chambers, Syreeta Day, and India Moore and his two brothers Leroy Mullins and Jamale Mullins, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wali returns home to be with his father Leroy Mullins and stepfather Leander Waddleton Jr.
Wali was one of a kind. He will never be forgotten but be forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. As Wali requested, there will be no funeral service and he will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, if you feel you must give something, please consider a donation in his name to the Riverside Methodist Hospital Cancer Center.
