Trinka Kitchen

June 6, 1966 — January 7, 2020

Trinka Gail Kitchen (Stivers)

Trinka Kitchen, 53, with her loving family by her side, passed away on January 7, 2020 after a hard fought and courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.  She was born on June 6, 1966 in LaFollette, Tennessee to Gary and Polly Stivers.  Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Columbus, Ohio where she grew up and lived her entire life.  Trinka graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1985 and soon after began her 35 year career with Bank One/JP Morgan Chase.

Trinka was a unique and loving free-spirit who touched the lives of everyone she met and genuinely gave of herself for the betterment of the people around her.  Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 26 years, Joe, and the light of her life, daughter Sera; her ever supportive parents Gary and Polly Stivers of Columbus; brother Anthony Stivers (Joshua and Zachary) of Columbus, brothers in law Ken and Debbie Kitchen (Ethan) of Circleville, Tim and Gretchen Kitchen (Abraham and Eli) of Pickerington as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also left to cherish her memory are countless friends, many of them life-long.  If she allowed you to get close to her, then you knew and felt the love she had for you.

Trinka was preceded in death by her grandparents Earl and Flora Byrd, Luther and Catherine Stivers, and her husband’s parents James A. and Mary Kay Kitchen.

The family will receive friends to celebrate her life and wonderful memories in a casual setting (the only way she would have it) on Saturday, January 18th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home 4341 North High Street in Columbus.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Susan G. Komen Columbus or the James Cancer hospital.  We hope you can join us and support Team Trinka at the “Race For the Cure”.
