Timothy Gay

GAY

Tim Gay (Timothy J.) died on May 17, 2015 due to a prolonged battle with brain cancer.   He was 54 years old.  Tim was born in Zanesville, Ohio to Donald and Joy (Russell) Gay on March 24, 1961.  He went to Rosecrans High School and moved to Columbus Ohio in 1979.  Tim was passionate about sports.  He was a die-hard Red Sox and Detroit Lions fan.   He was a near scratch golfer and spent much time with his friends golfing and watching golf. Tim had many dear friends who will miss his fun-loving irreverent personality.  He worked at Kroger for 35 (1980) years and was last head produce manager at the Chambers Road Kroger in Columbus.  He was also the Union Steward for UFCW (United Food Workers) and a strong and outspoken advocate of workers rights.  Tim is survived by his spouse, Jamie Kocher, of Dublin.  He is the father of 5 children:  Adam Gay, 21, Natalie Gay, 11, Alex Gay, 7, Maximus Kocher, 5 and Nicholas Kocher, 3.   He is also survived by his mother, Joy Gay, and four siblings:  Jim Gay of New Albany, Dan Gay of Cincinnati, Pat Gay of Zanesville and Julie Gay of Dublin.  A celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on June 5th at the Whetstone Park of Roses Shelter House in Clintonville from 6 to 10 p.m.
