Born January 10th, 1944 to parents Robert E. and Lena "Amy" (Purdy) McCready. Tom attended Lucas High School but transferred to Mansfield Senior High and graduated with the class of 1962. He moved to Mansfield after graduation to work at the family owned business. He and his brother Dick hustled and sold pianos and organs for the family business. The two brothers worked tirelessly side by side in the piano business and later in the furniture business. They worked hard but had a lot of laughs hauling those pianos up and out of many basements over the years. Tom later moved to Columbus and became partners with longtime friend, Paul Graves of Graves Piano and Organ. Tom managed a store on Hamilton Rd in Columbus until he sold it in the 1970's. He then went back to work with his brother Dick in the furniture and liquidation business. He decided that he would start his own business of liquidating jewelry stores as it was not as hard on the back as lifting furniture and pianos. he opened McCready & Associates in 1999. He liquidated jewelry stores in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and as far away as North Carolina. Tom was a true salesman in every sense of the word as he would always have a little "bobble" in his pocket for sale to show friends and acquaintances.
Tom is survived by his wife Marsha A. (Dill) McCready of Dublin; his children Michelle Rivard of Michigan and Ryan McCready of Hilton Head, S.C.; Jennifer (Troy) Weaver of Mansfield OH; Andrew (Heather) Hicks of Canton, GA; Grandchildren; Theresa Ditrapani Smith, Brandon Rivard, Dylan Johnson, Gage Weaver, Carter Weaver, Anna Weaver, Emma (Aaron) Beadle, Hailey Hicks, Ava Hicks, & Isaac Hicks; Sister-in-law Marilyn McCready of Mansfield and brother-in-law Paul Culler of Florida; & many nieces and Nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his brothers Richard McCready, Robert McCready and sister Marlene Culler.
