Thomas C. Cochrane (49) died peacefully in his sleep on December 4th in Columbus, after battling long-term health issues.
Tom was born and raised in Upper Arlington and graduated from Upper Arlington High School in June of 1988. As a young man, he worked for MCL Cafeteria where he developed his strong work ethic and cultivated his enjoyment in helping others. As an adult, he was a proud employee of Optic Nerve Art, Inc. Tom loved being able to visit places all across America to help create long-lasting works of art for others to enjoy. He was a loyal employee and had a passion for his job.
Tom loved music, travel, painting and being in the great outdoors. He cherished spending time with friends and family. Tom always held a soft spot for the underdog and continuously helped others in need. He will be missed by many.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Thomas A. and Roseann (Polk) Cochrane. He is survived by his sisters Cheryl Lambert of Columbus, Ohio and Ellen Finnerty of Overland Park, Kansas; his nephews Levi (Katie) Fetty and TJ (Amber) Fetty; his nieces Sarah (Jason Johnson) Fetty, Sierra and Katie Rose Finnerty; his great-nephews Thomas, Elijah and Logan; his great-nieces Mackenzie, Caitlyn and Kylee; and a countless number of beloved friends.
We will miss your kind smile, your infectious laugh, your heart of gold.
A memorial service is being planned for a date in the near future to celebrate Tom’s life. All friends and family will be welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tom’s memory to The Arbor Day Foundation, Trees in Memory ( www.arborday.org ). Trees will be planted and registered in one of our nation’s forests carrying Tom’s memory and legacy with them.
