Thomas (Tim) Mahin Cassady, 70, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at his home in Columbus, OH. Tim was born on February 24, 1949 in New Castle, Indiana to June and Earl Cassady. He had two older brothers, Earl and Don. Tim earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in clinical psychology at Ball State University and went on to finish his PhD in counseling psychology at the University of Akron. He dedicated his entire 48-year career to providing mental health services and supporting the education and training of new generations of therapists. Tim loved playing tennis, going to the theatre, and traveling the world. He quickly made friends in any room and always found joy and excitement from everyday life. He is survived by his significant other Sheri Luonuansuu, daughter Sarah Cassady and her husband Jimmy Male, daughter Chelsey Cassady and her husband Michael Cassady, former wife Cheri Cassady, big brother Don Cassady, niece Kim Carpenter and her husband Dave, grand-niece Cassady Carpenter, niece Cindy, niece Lori, and grand-niece Cassady Blakesley, and grand-niece Jordan. He is preceded in death by his parents June and Earl, brother Earl and Earl’s wife Betty, sister-in-law Delores Cassady, nephew Scott Cassady, nephew-in-law Mike Bivens, and his loving dog Daisy. A gathering honoring Tim’s life will take place in Worthington, OH at the CoHatch Library on January 4th 2020 from 3-6pm. Please email conrad.cassady@gmail.com for more information. All are welcome.
