Tarinesha L. Caldwell affectionately known as “Tara” was born on May 20, 1989 in Greenville, MS. On October 7, 2017, she was called home unexpectedly and is now resting in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 28 years old. Tara confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized. She is a 2007 graduate from Central Crossing High School (Grove City, OH). She was free spirited and loved dancing. Everyone Tara met adored her kindness and friendship. She once stated “The best of me is yet to come”. A week prior to her passing, Tara had re-enrolled in nursing school.
Tara leaves to cherish her memories, her loving parents Kevin and Dr Patricia Bailey (Gahanna, OH) who loved her more than life itself. The Lord knew that it would take a village with her so He blessed her with additional loving parents who stepped in at various stages of her life to give her the unconditional love she would need: Andre (Latosha) Smith (Greenville, MS); Nathan (Angela) Joiner (Dallas, GA); Lisa Dotson Smith (Memphis, TN); Rochelle Bailey (Columbus, OH) and Clifford J Mason (Battle Creek, MI).
From her extended and blended family, she was blessed with Eight (8) sisters: Ja’shayla Mason (Columbus, OH), Jaylan Mason (Columbus, OH), India (Jordyn) Harris (Columbus, OH), Jocelyn Bailey (Gahanna, OH), Olivia Bailey (Gahanna, OH), Raven Evans (Memphis, TN), Ebony Smith (Arlington, TX), Jazmin Kates (Kalamazoo, MI); Eight (8) brothers: Andre Smith Jr (Greenville, MS), Arrington Smith (Memphis, TN), Andrew Smith (Memphis, TN); Xzavier Hopkins (Greenville, MS), Michael Sampson (Greenville, MS), Nate Jackson (Dallas, GA), Derius Simmons (Murfreesboro, TN), Robert Evans (Memphis, TN).
She also leaves to cherish her memories two loving grandmothers: Iva B Holmes (Greenville, MS) and Merilene Joiner (Dallas, GA). Special Aunts: Velda Holmes (Columbus, OH), Alexandra Smith (Greenville, MS), Shantel (David) Powell (Columbus OH), Diane (Doug) LaMar (Kalamazoo, MI), Caprisha (Vernon II) Davis (Bartlett, TN), Kohantez Dixon (Indianapolis, IN), Tayana (Kenny) Meridy (Houston, TX) and Greta Barfield (Ypsilanti, MI). Special Uncles: Jerald (Marilyn) Diggins (Atlanta, GA), Tremaine (Genia) Taylor (Columbus, OH) and Gerry Joiner Sr (Dallas, GA). Special Cousins: Tara (Kendrickx) Davis (Greenville, MS), Charli and Chris Hammond (Columbus, OH), Chad Anderson (Atlanta, GA), Luci Dixon (Columbus, OH), Jerry (Athea) Hammond (Gahanna, OH), Ariel Green (Dallas, GA), Sharika Bowman and Kiara Davis (Jackson, MS), and Jeremy (Brittany) Diggins (Sarasota, FL). Two (2) Nieces: Genesis and LeViona Harris; One (1) Nephew: August Payton-Smith; Two (2) Godchildren: Genuine and Genesis Robertson and her furry Yorkie baby “Candi”.
Tara loved life and all those in it. She was blessed to have many cousins, aunts, and uncles along with hundreds of Special Friends who loved her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Nebracie Caldwell, Christine Bailey, Debra Taylor, Conrad Smith and Nathaniel Joiner.
Though we feel a deep loss with the untimely death of our beloved Tara, we stand rejoicing in knowing that while here on earth, she lived life to the fullest and loved unconditionally. Her positive demeanor, fervent spirit, and beautiful smile will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all whom she touched along the way.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Union Baptist Church, 3452 First Ave, Urbancrest, OH 43123 on Saturday, October 14, 2017. The family will greet visitors from 9am until the beginning of service at 10am. Arrangements entrusted to: Shaw-Davis Funeral Services, 34 W. 2nd Avenue – Columbus, OH 43201.
