Suzanne Taranto

Suzanne “Suzi” Taranto, Born January 2, 1942 and passed away September 12, 2024, at St Ann’s Hospital, with her family by her side. Predeceased, by her husband, John Taranto Jr. of 64 years by only 11 weeks to the day. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Leitha Matthews, her brother James Matthews, sister June Shroyer and sister, Norma Wilson. 

Suzi’s children are Mike Taranto (Kim), grandchildren, Bethany Ferguson, Drew Taranto and Allie Hysell, son Dan Taranto, grandchildren Anthony and Maria Taranto, Daughter Debbie Taranto (Sheryl), grandchildren Jacob, Noah, and Sophie Antoun

 Suzi spent her life well, as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; loving on us and creating the best memories. She loved her husband and supported him through his work and ministries, attending missionary trips to Haiti several times with him. She created the delicious Taranto’s Pizza crust and loved waiting on tables at the Pizzerias, and talking to all of her customers. If the napkins were not turned a certain way, you can be sure you heard about it. 

She often told us her grandchildren were her and John’s greatest joy in life. She created so much joy and memories for them. Having their favorite candy and snacks on hand at all times, snuggling to watch shows with them every Friday night, wrapping every single Christmas present and stocking stuffer, that she thoughtfully purchased, and long phone calls shooting the breeze about anything and everything. She was a homebody and we loved her for it. Saying she’ll be missed is an understatement. She wanted to be home in Heaven with John and Jesus desperately. The love she gave in life was returned to her ten-fold. She truly was an incredible wife, mother, and Mamaw. 

A private family celebration will be held in her honor at a later date.
