Steven Lee Swint

September 1, 1956 — September 3, 2024

Steven Lee Swint, born in Honshu, Japan to Cecil and Garnett Swint on September 1, 1956 passed peacefully in his sleep on September 3, 2024. Preceded in death by his loving grandmother Ruth Rankin, parents, and brother Nicklos Swint. He is survived by his siblings; Sue (Ron) Stewart, Connie (Steve) Surrency, Cecil Swint Jr., Sharlene (Bob) Wickline, Charles (Dawn) Swint, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and grandson Caleb. Steve’s family will always treasure their time with him; Vicki White and children Windi (Jonathon) Noble and Benjamin Swint.

An expert welder by trade and Columbus native, he will not be forgotten by his work at the Columbus Zoo, Riverside Hospital, and other major projects throughout the state of Ohio. In his later years he worked across the United States in the refrigeration welding industry, leaving his mark for years to come through his hardworking ethics and attention to detail. 

Steve always had a joke to share. His jovial and generous nature will not be forgotten. He was a hot sauce aficionado and loved great BBQ. Steve was an avid lover of music, specifically Rock n Roll and the Blues. His hobbies throughout this lifetime included fishing, riding his motorcycles, disc golf and connecting with his friends and family. 

Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life on September 21, 2024 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. at 1340 Community Park Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43229.

In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to American Welding Society of Columbus scholarship fund. Checks or Money Orders payable to “AWS Columbus Section” and “in memory of Steve Swint”
