Stephen (Steve) C. Martin, 61, devoted member of Genoa Baptist Church, went home to be with the Lord on 11/30/2017 at his home in Westerville, OH.
Survived by his wife and caregiver of 37 years, Belinda, and daughters Sarah (Korey) Kincade of Grove City, Rhonda (Jason) Litton of Delaware, and Sarah Carletti of MA; grandsons Mason and Bennett Kincade; and faithful canine companions Amos and Andy.
Preceded in death by his parents William Clay and Mary Eva (Goff) Martin.
Steve was born in Dallas, TX and was Valedictorian of the 1974 class of Dunbar High School, WV. He graduated in 1976 from the Ohio Technical Institute with a degree in Field Engineering, and worked in computer repair services. Most recently, he worked for Solutions Thru Software (Medicine Hat, Canada) providing IT support.
A member of Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary since 2011, Steve was recently promoted to Captain, and the recipient of the Duffy and Excellence in Service awards.
Hobbies included fixing anything his wife could break, gardening, grilling and cooking, riding roller coasters, and home construction/remodeling. He recently designed and built a retirement home for him and his wife in Vinton County, which they named the Haven of Peace; he took great pride in his craftsmanship.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt Carmel Hospice, Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary Foundation, or Genoa Baptist Church.
Thank you to friends and family who have been so loving and supportive during this time. And a special thank you to Tito Delpin for the priceless help that has given us such peace.
Services will be held at Genoa Baptist Church (7562 Lewis Center Rd, Westerville, OH 43082) on Sunday, 12/03/17 – visitation, 1:30 – 4:00 pm, service at 4:00 pm.
