Stella Grassel

Our beautiful mother, Stella Grassel, born August 6, 1927, in Youngstown Ohio, passed away at the Kobacker House, Columbus Ohio, March 11, 2020.

She was wife to Charles Louis Grassel for 24 years and raised eight children in Bainbridge Township, Ohio.

Stella had a passion for gardening, all flowers and nature, but her main focus was raising and loving her children, loving her family and friends and praising the Lord. She was a wonderful employee at Wendy’s and Ameramark at Bank One. She loved working, had a gift for cleaning, loved meeting people and making new friends.

Stella raised eight children, Charlotte (Jim) Wilson, Ruth (Alvin) Massman, David (Rebecca) Grassel, Patricia Grassel, Mary Ellen Grassel, April (Michael) Stone, Christine (Gary) Carney, and Chuck (Kim) Grassel.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her daughter Mary Ellen and her son David. She had 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. In her latter years, she met and made many special friends at Restoration Plaza, Westerville Community United Church of Christ and Maize Manor in Columbus, Ohio.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

A special thanks to all the caregivers that helped in our mother’s final journey, you were all amazing and a blessing.

Due to current health concerns, the family has decided to have a graveside service only on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11 am at Restland Cemetery in Bainbridge Township.
