Beloved father and retired veteran, Stanley H. Pifer, will be greatly missed and profoundly remembered. Stan passed away suddenly on December 14, 2021 at the age of 72 after a long and courageous battle with COPD while surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Ashland, Ohio and spent the last 26 years of his life in the greater Columbus area. Stan proudly served 20 years of service in the United States Navy. He was a bright and loving man who always seemed to muster a smile, extend a courteous phone call, or share a witty joke.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl (McConnell) Pifer, father Robert Pifer, mother Helen (Kauffman) Pifer, and infant sister Karen Pifer.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Paul; children: Ryan (Stefanie) McConnell, Scott (Oanh Na) Pifer, Megan (Chad) Knowlden, & Molly (Bradley) Anderson; grandchildren: Chase (Alex) McConnell, Taylor (Daniel) Pinkis, Halle (Peter) McConnell, Devin Anderson, Ethan Knowlden, Aster (Emma) Anderson, Addison Anderson, Hannah Knowlden, Nina Pifer, and Natalie Pifer.
A memorial will be held at the Clintonville Shaw-Davis Funeral home in honor of Stan on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 10am-12pm. Calling hours for family and friends will begin at 10am and be followed by a service and procession. All are welcome to accompany the family for lunch after the burial at Saint John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3220 Columbus St., Grove City, OH 43123
