Shirley Freyermuth

Shirley Irene Freyermuth, age 81, passed away in Grove City, Ohio on June 23, 2022 of natural causes. She was born in Westerville, Ohio on January 2, 1941 to her parents Marion White McNeal and Leora Frances (Kiser) McNeal.

Shirley grew up with 7 siblings: Brinton, Fredrick, Kathy Frank (Betty) McNeal, Ron (Janet) McNeal, JoAnn (Robert) Martindale, JR (Donna) McNeal, Carl (Margaret) McNeal, Ken (Sue) McNeal, and Mary (Rick) Cutlip. Shirley graduated from Jackson High School located in Pickaway County in 1959. She loved God and was active in the church her whole life. Shirley came from a Christian home and enjoyed raising her 6 children on a farm. She always supported her children throughout her life, especially in their sporting events and 4H. Shirley loved playing the trumpet, sewing, hunting, and fishing. She was a wonderful storyteller who enjoyed people and never knew a stranger.

Shirley is survived by her children Jared (Tina) Martindale, Annette (Jerry) Lookabaugh, Lowell (Lynn) Martindale, Darrin (Janie) Martindale, Marcus (Leslie) Martindale;(daughter in law) Yolanda grandchildren Cody, Lucas, Logan, Lindsey, Nichole, Olivia, Alana, Kane, and Tori; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Christine, Mark, and Lucas McHenry. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Freyermuth; son Brinton (Yolanda) Martindale; and siblings Brinton, Fredrick, Kathy, Frank, and Ron McNeal.

Services will be held at Good Shepard Community Church (210 Obetz Road Columbus, Ohio 43207) on Friday July 1, 2022. Visitation will be held from 9 am to 10 am with the funeral service to begin at 10 am, officiated by Pastor Gary Kirk and Rev Maurice Martindale. Dinner for family and friends after the graveside service will be at the Good Shepard Church.
