Sheryl Foti

November 7, 1950 — June 17, 2021

Sheryl Foti passed away on June 17th, 2021. She was born on November 7, 1950 to John W. Slyh and Marylou Dodd Slyh of Columbus, Ohio. She was a graduate of Upper Arlington High School Class of 1968, a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, and a lifelong resident of central Ohio.

Sherry was a member of Jersey Baptist Church and singing in the choir was one of her life's greatest joys. She gave generously of her time and resources to the annual holiday party for Faith on 8th Men's Shelter.

She was a talented seamstress and accomplished knitter, an avid reader and a fan of classic tv, musicals and movies, with an encyclopedic knowledge of silver screen stars and their films.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her four beautiful grandchildren who were the apples of her eye.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Michael Franks, siblings Michael Slyh and Kristi Tausch, and her husband Gary Foti.  She leaves behind her daughter Jennifer (Yacine) Sami, beloved grandchildren Pete and Oscar Dunkle, and Meriem and Nora Sami, daughter Elizabeth Franks (Ted Leonard), brother Randy (Kathy) Slyh, brother-in-law Randy Tausch, sister Susan (Ron) Wingate, sister Rebecca (Jim) Frye, numerous nieces and nephews, dear friend Pat Carder, and former in-laws Ken, Norman and Susan Brusk.

The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff of The Ohio State University Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital Short North for their gentle and compassionate care during Sherry's final days.

Memorial services are scheduled at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 34 W. 2nd Avenue in Columbus on Saturday, June 26th.  Friends may visit from 9:30-10:30am, with funeral at 10:30am and burial to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg.
