Shannon Leah Hiott, was born February 25, 1994 passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2023 at the age of 29.
Shannon will always be a bright star to her parents, family and many friends. The loss to all those that knew her is immeasurable.
A champion of change and compassion for all things, Shannon was a proud advocate of women’s rights, equality, mental health care and spay/neuter programs. She was an advocate of sustainable living, and was earth conscious on all levels.
Known as a dedicated cat guardian, Shannon took part in the tedious process of TNR- rescuing 7 cats from her own backyard and asking for donations each birthday for cat rescue operations. Custom artwork and creations at her home accentuated her lifelong love of cats: a patio built so her owned-cats could comfortably and safely enjoy being outdoors, heated water bowls in the winter, coolers filled with straw for feral cats in winter and cared for all those she encountered.
She was an active member of the local music scene and one of her greatest joys in life was going to music festivals and promoting her favorite bands. Consistently supporting local artists and creatives, she surrounded herself with love and good vibes. No one will forget her love of Halloween and the spectacular costumes she put together from scratch. She was a true force to be reckoned with and mastered countless skills including sewing, clothing-design, makeup artistry, and Pokémon hunting (achieving a level of 35).
Shannon is known as someone thoughtful, generous, silly and tenacious. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2017 with a Bachelors of Psychology. Shannon recently accomplished obtaining her Fraud Investigator Certification with Nationwide Insurance Company of which she was most proud and excited about.
Shannon’s commitment to self-love, moral integrity, leadership, friendship, and promoting change in the community will leave an everlasting impact on all those who had the honor of knowing her.
