Sandra (Sandy) Runyon

Sandra “Sandy” Runyon passed away peacefully in April 2025. Born in Geneva, Ohio, in 1947 to Jennie and Constantine Meetin, she graduated from Geneva High School and The Ohio State University. She pursued a long and successful career in chemistry at a time when few women entered the field, working at both Roxane Laboratories and Battelle in Columbus, Ohio.

Sandy was a woman of deep faith and a longtime member of North Baptist Church. She was passionate about healthy living, dedicated to helping others, and had a lifelong love for animals—especially cats. She enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and abroad, visiting places like Thailand and Slovenia. In her younger years, she loved to ski, and in more recent years, she cherished daily walks with her husband through their neighborhood.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bud Runyon; her sister Carol; brothers Ron and Bob; nephews Steven, Michael, and Paitoon; and great-niece Sara. Sandy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, strong faith, and caring heart.

A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to a local animal shelter.
