Ruby P. Walcutt, age 88, of Columbus, passed away on May 26, 2020 after a hard fought battle with vascular dementia and congestive heart failure. She was born in Williamson, WV on May 1, 1932, grew up in Inez, KY, then her family relocated to Columbus, Ohio. She loved sports, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball, The Cincinnati Bengals, and The Cincinnati Reds. Ruby was an amazing cook, and loved planting her flowers every year. She worked for Whetstone Gardens Care Center from 1985 to 1998. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Walcutt, parents Robert Fields, Sr. and Mary Robinson Fields, and brother Robert Fields, Jr. Ruby is survived by daughters Terri (Jeff) Meyer, Karen (Ed) Scholl, Kim (Michael) Solomon, Dianna Walcutt, Mary (Michael) Williams, sisters Myrtle Sue Holbrooks and Velva Jean Kohli, eight grandchildren Gayle, Erik, Alyssa, Kyle, Meghan, Jake, Corey, and Kayla, three great-grandchildren Alivia, Lyla, and Cash, nephews Robert (Katie) Holbrooks, Mike Ringer, Mark (Sandy) Ringer, aunt Luchie Robinson, and numerous beloved cousins.
A private family viewing will be held at Shaw-Davis Funeral Homes, Clintonville Chapel, 4341 North High St., on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 12:30 pm, and graveside service Monday, June 1, 2020 at 2 pm, at Union Cemetery 3349 Olentangy River Road, with Reverend Trent Snider officiating. Donation may be made in her name to OhioHealth Hospice.
