Ronald Lee Combes, age 70, passed away August 16, 2018 after fighting a 6 year battle with colon cancer. Ron was born in Richmond Indiana January 10, 1948. Ron is survived by the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Yvonne, his three children: Colin, Emily, and Graham, and their spouses, Gina, Tom, and Jen, respectively. Ron has spent the last 8 years enjoying his role as grandfather to his 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Combes, as well as two brothers and three sisters.Ron spent 3 ½ years in the United States Army and was stationed in Taiwan from 1967-1970. Afterward, he continued with the Army Reserves and pursued a career with Xerox. After 32 years with Xerox, Ron followed his true passion for cars and thrived in a second career selling Porsches and Jaguars. Ron was an avid music lover and played the drums. Some of his favorite artists were Jimmy Buffet, The Beatles, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, and Eric Clapton. He instilled his love of music in his children. Ron loved the beach, traveling, wine tastings, soccer (#savethecrew) and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ron loved life and living it to the fullest. An informal celebration of his life will be held Sunday August 19, 2018 from 3-6 pm at Combustion Brewery and Taproom. Address: 80 West Church Street Pickerington, Ohio. Friends and family will be welcomed in the upstairs loft. Ron’s children have spent the past 5 years riding in Pelotonia to help find a cure for cancer in his name.
