Robert “Bob” Earl Estep, Jr, 68, of Columbus, OH, passed away, May 21, 2019, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and children following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Charleston, WV, on August 23, 1950 to the late Robert Earl Estep, Sr. and Aileen Webb Estep.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, the love of his life and soul mate, Victoria (Vickie); children, Amy (Clint) Hinson of Pace, Florida; Suzanne (Brant) Gipson of Columbus, Ohio; Bobby (Christie) Estep of Sterling, VA; Katie (Steve) Tate of Charleston, WV; Jimmie Leach of St. Albans WV; grandchildren, Summer, Jillian, Kaylee, Seth, Falon, Grey, Rowan, and Brittany; great-grandchildren Ryder, and Warren; brother, Randy (Sheryl) Estep of Scott Depot,WV; nieces, Amanda and Emily; sister, Denise Estep of Columbus, OH.
He graduated from Marshall University in 1972 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He retired from CED Electric in 2017 after 26 years of devoted service.
He was an avid OSU and Marshall fan. He loved playing golf with his buddies and something you may not know-he made and sold golf clubs. Bob enjoyed traveling with his wife, Vickie as well as spending time with family and friends. Bob has had a few titles in his lifetime-husband (wonderful and loving), father (dedicated), grandfather (loving, carefree, & playful), professor (ask him anything, he knew the answer), groundskeeper of an immaculate yard and he also had a few titles we won’t mention but those were the ones he laughed about the most. He traveled where he wanted to, he did what he wanted to do and said what he wanted to say, never mind the consequences. He knew what he wanted and was never shy in making it known to anyone who would listen. He freely gave his opinion, like him or not, he didn’t care. Bob was a great guy, everyone who met him loved him, he will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
