Richard Nuenke

Richard Harold Nuenke, PhD, age 85, July 10, 2018. Born Sept 3, 1932 in Bay City, MI to parents Harold and Ruth Nuenke. Preceded in death by brother Norman Nuenke.  Survived by wife Carla Darnell Nuenke; sons Mark (Linda) Nuenke and Michael (Megan) Nippert; daughter Vonda (Richard) Parks; sister-in-law Sue Nuenke; grandchildren Virginia, Anthony, Selby, Eva, Alexandra, and Gunther. Dick was a faculty member of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, teaching biochemistry to medical and dental students for more than 50 years. He served as Director of the Independent Studies Program at the OSU College of Medicine.  Dick was an active member of American MENSA, International Torch Club, and the OSU Photography Society.  A veteran of the US Army, he enjoyed his cats, classical music and growing roses. Dick’s teaching will continue by way of The OSU Body Donor Program.  A reception in his honor will be held Thursday evening July 26th from 6-8 pm at the OSU Faculty Club, 181 S. Oval Mall, Columbus, OH 43210.  A family graveside service will be held Friday, July 27th at Kingwood Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colony Cats.
