Richard Allen Gautier (Rick/Pops), of Columbus, Ohio passed away on March 21st 2025, at the age of 67. Richard, beloved father, son, brother, and cherished friend will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Richard was born on November 22nd 1957, in Columbus, Ohio. The son of Maxine (French) and Raymond Gautier, from Virginia. He was united in marriage to Donna Carpenter and was blessed with two sons, John and Ricky Gautier.
He was a beloved lover, friend, and companion of Alice Carver for the past eighteen years. His infectious love for animals will forever be remembered by his family and friends.
Richard (Pops) leaves behind to cherish his memory; his companion Alice Carver and her children; Betty Brewster, Daniel Brewster, Johnny Brewster, Kelly Carver, Janet Carver, several grandchildren; His son’s John (Tricia) Gautier and Allen (Melisa) Gautier and their families. John’s: Austin, Brayden, and Chelsea. Allen’s: Landen and Easton Gautier. Richard’s siblings Donny (Peggy) French, Ray (Brenda) Gautier, Bobby (Becky) Gautier, Jack Gautier, and Joyce (Tony) Cirillo. He was preceded in death by his mother and father (Maxine French and Raymond Gautier), also his siblings Paul and Steve Gautier.
Richard (Pops) enjoyed fishing and cooking, but most of all he loved his dogs, especially Penny and his cats, especially George and Rosie. He loved all types of music and was always singing to himself, even without the radio being on. He loved all types of sports, his favorite was football.
Richard's (Pops) memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.

Honorary visiting for family and friends will be held at Shaw-Davis Funeral Homes Short North Chapel, 34 W 2nd Ave. Columbus, OH 43201 on Thursday April 3rd starting at 4:00pm.
With tearful hearts we watched you fade away, not knowing what to do to help you. In our hearts and minds continually thinking of this prayer: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. Amen.
