She was a compassionate nurse for the sick and dying and quite skilled in needle crafts including the knitting of socks, hats and mittens for those less fortunate. She also made many beautiful handmade sweaters, pillows, socks, and baby clothes for family and friends As a devoted Catholic Rae was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist church in Agawam, served as a Eucharistic minister and took part in the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Rae loved to cook and bake for her friends and family. She and her husband Bruce were avid candlepin bowlers and Rae was proud to be ranked as the top woman bowler in her league.  They also loved to play golf and travel. Special thanks to Zusman Hospice for skillfully and tenderly caring for Rae and making her comfortable in her final hours. There will be a private viewing for the family on Monday, November 23 followed by a mass of Christian Burial for family and friends at St. Timothy Church, 188 Thomas Lane, Columbus at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service celebrating Rae’s life will be scheduled in February.
