Randall “Randy” Richardson, 72, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on the evening of November 24, 2017. Randy graduated from Monroe High School in Five Points, Ohio in 1963. Following high school, Randy enlisted in the Air Force and served in the 6989 Air Force Security Service Unit stationed in Texas and Misawa, Japan between May of 1963 and May of 1967.  Randy was an avid baseball fan, playing baseball and fast pitch softball along with coaching and umpiring the game.  One of his favorite pastimes was cheering on his favorite team, the Cincinnati Reds.   Randy loved music and especially enjoyed playing the guitar as well as finding and fixing up old guitars for others and himself.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family and in his later years, enjoyed relaxing and working in his garden.  He took great pride in his flowers and koi pond, and creating a space to gather with others.  Randy was also a member of the Bexley Beginners and Discussion Group.

Randy was born November 10, 1945, to Hobart and Gladys Richardson.  He was preceded in death by both parents; his brother, Taylor Richardson; and sisters, Francis Bauer, Patricia Braud and Pauline Comer. He is survived by his Soulmate of 30 years Rosemary Anders;  brothers Hobart (Pat) Richardson Jr. and Gary (Darlene) Richardson;  his children, Scott (Amy) Richardson, Julie (Brian) Wolfe, Tishia (Shaloi) Gunton, Robyn Flynt and Tracy Anders.  He was the proud grandfather of Emily Abrams, AJ Richardson, Grace Wolfe, Nathan Wolfe, Megan Wolfe, Ian Luckeydoo, Lennon Luckeydoo, Wade Sockman, Alex Flynt and Charlotte Anders.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Randy was an animal lover.  He had many dogs and cats he cared for throughout his life.  Most recently one of his greatest joys was taking in the neighborhood cats which he would eventually call his own.  He made sure all of them were well taken care of and for this reason donations can be made in Randy’s memory to Colony Cats, P.O. Box 163904, Columbus, Ohio, 43216.

A celebration of life will be held for the family at a later time.
