Ralph Phinney

Ralph E. Phinney, 81, of Columbus passed peacefully away in his home on December 10, 2024. He was born on June 6, 1943 to the late Nelson and Bertha (Fosnaugh) Phinney. Ralph served six years in the Air National Guard during the Vietnam War. Ralph was a licensed realtor for 46 years and he enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandchildren, especially surf fishing on vacation at Virginia Beach. In his younger years, Ralph loved to fish in his 1950’s Penn-Yan wooden fishing boat with his Johnson motor. Ralph loved classic country music and had a natural ear to sing and play almost any tune on the piano and accordion.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy (Weimer) Phinney; sons Scott (Jodi) Phinney and David (Justin Boysen) Phinney; grandchildren Alexandra (Zach) Viox, Charles, Douglas, and James Phinney; sister Jean (Fred) Weimer; and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday, December 15th, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and Monday, December 16th, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with service immediately following at 12:30 p.m. at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 4341 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214. Interment will be at Kingwood Memorial Park directly following the service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Tree of Life Christian Schools in Ralph’s memory.
