Philip Theodore Smith, age 76, of Sunbury, Ohio passed away peacefully, Monday January 15, 2024 at 1:07a.m. at Country View of Sunbury.

Born to Lester Ellwood Smith and Rosetta Mae (Rathburn) Smith on May 12, 1947, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. On 10/15/2005 he married his love Kim (Radabaugh) Smith and they shared almost 19 years of marriage together. Together they loved their Black Pug fur baby Bella, Phil always said she was his baby girl.

Preceded in death by his father, Lester Smith, his mother, Rosetta Smith, sister Joann (Smith) Black, friends Karen and Richard from Country View. He is survived by family, his wife, Kim Smith; children April Smith, Timothy (Tina) Smith, step-children Amy (Jon) Pease and James (Carmen) Reuscher; Grand Child, Eli Smith; step-grand children Lacey, Colton and Jackson Reuscher, Aiden, Logan and Madalyn Pease. Brother in law, Bob Black, nieces Lesley, Ceci Black and nephew Darren Black. Friends Phyllis and Anthony Garwatoski, Maggie, Betty, Ken, Kathy and so many more friends at Country View.

Phil worked at a few different jobs before he found his lifelong job at Ohiohealth where he retired with 37 years of service. He was an avid activities assistant at Country View where he resided for the past 3 years

He was grand champion at corn hole 2 years in a row and loved playing bingo. He was a talented and an excellent artist with all his coloring pages and paintings. He took time to chose his colors and layouts perfectly, it came so natural to him. He is also known for his excellent coaching abilities teaching both his children how to pitch and also to play burn out. He was a great son, husband, father, friend, uncle, pet daddy, artist, coach, umpire, activity.

Memorial service will be held Saturday February 17 from 1pm to 5pm at the American Legion, Sunbury Ohio. Delaware county veterans association will perform military honors.
