Patricia Gerber “Patti” Marrah, age 82 of Columbus, Ohio went to be with the Lord and was reunited with her beloved husband on December 22, 2017. The kindest, warmest person we have known, we and all who knew her, will miss her and her ever-present smile. She always saw the good in everyone and everything and anyone who met Patti loved her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Born in Yakima, Washington, Patti was a graduate of Washington State University and became an excellent elementary teacher and later an office manager for obstetrician gynecologists (for whom she proudly worked), but was also always a full-time mom and grandmother. Throughout her life she was an active church member, most recently at Meadow Park Church of God. She was happiest when with her family, when serving others, worshipping (especially through song), attending Bible study and when fellowshipping with family, friends and soon-to-be friends. Patti loved to watch her children or grandchildren play any sport, cheer or perform or just spend time with them. Patti was preceded in death by the love of her life Richard Lincoln (“Dick”) Marrah. Together they personified commitment and loyalty in their church, marriage, family and vocations. Patti was also preceded in death by her parents Dorothy Halstead Gerber and John (Dorie) Gerber and brother Jay (Beryl) Gerber. Patti is survived by her beloved sons Rick (Denise) Marrah, Douglas (Jennifer) Marrah and Scott (Molly) Marrah and cherished grandchildren Brittany, Ashley, Michelle, Douglas Jr. “DJ,” Michael, Grant, Kaitlyn, Amanda, Laine, Elise and Jack Marrah and Alexa and Connor Burke. She is also survived by brother-in-law Robert Marrah and sisters-in-law Jayne, Gertrude and Priscilla Marrah, cousin Kay (Jim) Elliott and numerous nieces and nephews. She had a large and loving extended family, particularly close through the years to the Rabold family and Doug and Jackie Veach. We are particularly grateful for the devotion of Jayne Marrah, Sherry Rabold, Susie Rabold, Janet Mathes, Barbara Stonecypher and Carmen Collins, who were steadfast friends to the end and for the kindness and patience of the caregivers at Willowbrook Christian Village. While the last few years were difficult for Patti, we rejoice that she is now restored and sees “face to face.” I Corinthians 13:12.
