Patricia Heier 1954 - 2019

Patricia Wilkin Heier, daughter of the late E. Ray Wilkin, Jr. and Jeane Davis Wilkin, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 13, 2019.

Born in Appleton, Wisconsin on August 1, 1954, she attended Marietta College and graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri in 1976. She received her Juris Doctor degree in 1979 from the University of Dayton, and served as a legal counsel for the Franklin County Child Support Enforcement Agency and Franklin County Children Services.

A member of First Community Church, she was active in Women’s Guild D and the Heart to Heart Food Bank, and was a longtime volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Interfaith Legal Clinic, the Steps for Sarcoma 5K Fundraiser, and Girl Scouts of America.

She is survived by her son Gregory Heier (Anna) and daughter Michelle Heier Johnson (Nicholas); her sister Janet Wilkin Bambach (Dennis) and brother, David Wilkin; her grandchildren Jackson, Sydney, Caroline, and Zoe; her nieces Lauren Bambach Heffelbower (Neil) and Lucia Bambach and nephew Philip Bambach (Ashley). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America or the Cat Welfare Association .

Family will receive friends 4-7 pm on Friday, September 20, 2019 at SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 4341 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214. Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 pm on September 21, 2019 at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd, Columbus, OH 43212.
