Okey Jennings Tolley, Jr. age 73, October 20, 2017. Born April 16, 1944 in Oak Hill, WV to parents Okey and Velma Newlon Tolley. Preceded in death by his brother Glenn Tolley. Survived by wife Judy; sons Trevor (Lynn) Tolley and Ty (Martini) Tolley; grandchildren Dayana and Johan Tolley; brother-in-laws Jack (Terri) Woodford and Joby (Marie) Woodford; sister-in-law Dottie Tolley. Okey was retired after 47 years of service at OSU as a Facilities Space Analyst, where he was responsible for documenting the space of 35 million sq. ft. in more than 1100 buildings.  He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he reached the rank of Airman 1st class. His first job was a missile engine mechanic where he spent long hours working underground in a missile silo. He had a love for art, so after working on missiles, he chose to be an illustrator.  He was entrusted with Top Secret clearance to hand letter briefing charts for the Generals who were briefing President Johnson. He was a longtime member and retired elder of Worthington Christian Church where he taught Sunday school and volunteered in children’s church and the VBS program. A loving husband and a devoted father, Okey will be remembered for his generosity toward others and his servant’s heart. Donations in his memory may be made to Worthington Christian Church VBS ministry, Tree of Life Christian Schools or volunteer of your time to Worthington Christian Village. Visitation will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm and Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10:00 am to Noon at the WORTHINGTON CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 8145 N High St, Columbus, OH 43235. A memorial service will follow at Noon. Dr. Marshall Hayden, Tom Sherrod and Jay Scott officiating. There will be a private family interment at Dayton National Cemetery with military honors.
