Nettie Watts Obituary Notice
Nettie Ann Watts, age 60, sunrise February 18, 1960; sunset February 5, 2021. Nettie was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio where she spent her last days battling a brave fight with COPD. She passed at home peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Nettie spent her early days in life painting and rehabilitating homes. She enjoyed swimming, dancing, fishing, cooking out, and lying in the sun on hot summer days. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She was always the one that could light up any room. She was known for her spontaneous and spirited wild side and always had a story to tell. She will be dearly missed by all.
Nettie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Alice Watts; father Earl Watts; brothers Earl Thomas Watts and Vernon Douglas Watts; and sister Mary Katherine Hansgen.
Survived by her sister Ann Lorbach; brother Paul Lee Watts (Sherry); daughters Belinda Watts and Autumn Nelson; grandchildren Lamar (Shannon), Dayna, Brandon, Aubriaunna, Savannah, Selena, Elijah, Ciera, Justin, Nicholas, Cody and Nathaniel. Great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Nova, Faithlynn, Ariyah and Chase; many nieces and nephews; and closest friends Darrell Davis and Charles Bruenig.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, Short North Chapel, 34 W 2nd Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, 43201. Visitations will begin at 11:00 a.m., prior to the service. https://livestream.com/shaw-davis/nettiewatts
Family and friends will proceed to St. Joseph Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service.
