Myong Kim
June 2, 1953 — October 10, 2017
Myong Kim, 64, our beloved mother and friend. After a difficult battle with cancer, Myong passed away peacefully at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. Myong was born on June 2, 1953 in Seoul, Korea and moved to Ohio with her family in 1999.
Myong will forever be remembered by her devoted daughters Cha Kim, Lana Kim, and Bo Trethewey, her son-in-law Kyle Trethewey, and Cha’s partner Tom Kandybowicz, along with her relatives in Korea, her church community, and her beloved friends who were blessed to know her.
Myong was a deacon in her church, the New Vision Church of Columbus. Myong devoted her life to God, to working hard, and to seeing her daughters succeed.
Myong touched us all with her sense of determination, her faith, and her love for her family. Even in the face of life’s ultimate challenge, she never gave up. Myong will be forever in our hearts and in God’s loving arms.
