Mitchell Guy Mayer, 62, of Columbus, Ohio died Sunday, May 20, 2018, of pancreatic cancer.
Mitchell was born in St. Paul, MN, and lived a number of years in Savannah, GA before moving to Columbus, OH. He was a highly experienced broadcast operations controller for television and radio stations. Mitch was an animated story teller and a tour guide in the historic district of Savannah conducting ghost, pirate, and history tours with a quick witted humor that made all of his stories come alive. Mitchell enjoyed nature adventures and was passionate about his many hobbies. His creative energies were channeled through photography, painting, music, crafting musical instruments, and more.
Surviving are his son, Aaron Mayer of Columbus, OH, his father, Paul Mayer of Savannah, GA, two sisters, Lynda Reis (Robin) of Waleska, GA, Karrie Walker (Michael) of Savannah, GA, a sister-in-law, Rebecca Lynn Mayer of Pooler, GA, several nieces and a nephew. Mitchell was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Mayer, and his brother, Daniel Mayer.
