Michael Paul Swisher was born September 15th, 1975, to loving parents Sharon and James Swisher. He was welcomed by an older brother, Chris “Bubba” Swisher. Born with a heart of gold and a spirit full of generosity, Michael brought warmth and kindness to everyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing him. Michael is proceeded in death by these three family members, and we take comfort in knowing that Michael was reunited with them and is watching over us now free of any pain.
Mike was a kindred spirit; the kind of man who would always put himself last to make sure those around him were taken care of. If you’ve ever spent time with Mike, you know that he was as down to earth as they come. Whether it was watching a football game on a Sunday afternoon, or having a weekday game night with Rhanda, Mara, and Mark, Mike found the most joy in the simple things and quality time he spent with his family. In addition, Mike loved getting to know the newer members of his family including Jordan, Justin, and his precious new niece, Emmy. Rhanda, Mara, and now Emmy, are the pride and joy of the life Mike lived and were his most precious loved ones. Michael’s memory will forever live on with his family; Mark McNamee(cousin), Rhanda McNamee(niece), Mara McNamee(niece), and Emilynn Rodriguez(great niece).
Michael will also be deeply missed by his Ange’s Pizza family. Mike loved his job, and took pride in being part of a team and helping feed his community. Mike actually loved to cook, even though his scope was limited (haha). It only makes sense that Mike was able to find a second home in a kitchen with people who made him laugh and feel welcome with them. Mike’s dedication to his job matched that to his family, and was a testament to his role as a provider and foundation.
Other than working and spending time with family, Mike also loved playing pool. Often joking about how bad he was, he never cared for winning. All that mattered to him were those few hours every week getting to relax and spend time with his close friends hanging out and laughing, not worrying about anything else. Mike would’ve given anything to know that the people around him were happy.
Mike was the definition of a simple man; he loved it that way. He never needed or wanted to be in the spotlight, he was perfectly happy just being part of the group. He was always trying to bring people together and share his genuine care and heartfelt presence. Michael’s legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty with live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, may his memory forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration. May his friends and family take peace in knowing that he was reunited with his parents and brother, and all other lost friends and family.
May he rest in peace.
