Michael David Kuehnl

January 24, 1963 — July 29, 2024

Michael “Mike” David Kuehnl of Columbus OH, age 61, passed away on July 29th, 2024. Mike was born in Toledo Ohio, on January 24th, 1963, to Thomas Kuehnl and Nancy Kuehnl (Wells). Mike was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Kuehnl, sister Karen Kuehnl, and stepfather Richard Wells.

Mike was known for his adventurous personality and infectious humor. He served in the military as a Marine and was very proud to have done so. He had a love of golf, passed down to him from his grandfather Simon, and was always striving to improve his game with his competitive nature.

He was passionate in his love for his family and devoted as much time as possible to taking care of them, including going on many fun adventures. He found tremendous pride in being a husband and a father.

His love for reading and knowledge ran deep, and he could often be found with a book in his hand or a historical or car documentary playing in the background while he worked on a project in his garage. He used this love for knowledge to help anyone in need. If he knew how to do something, there wasn’t any hesitation in his willingness to help or teach someone else.

Mike was known as a dog lover and as the “fun dad” who was always ready to get involved in games/activities. He taught all those around him about hard work, but also how to remember to have fun and find the humor in life.

He meant so much to so many and will be missed dearly by all family and friends.

“And it’s whispered that soon, if we all call the tune, Then the piper will lead us to reason. And a new day will dawn for those who stand long. And the forests will echo with laughter.” -Led Zeppelin

Mike is survived by his wife, Melissa Kuehnl; daughter Samantha Kuehnl; mother, Nancy Wells; step mother, Phyllis Walters; brother Gregory Kuehnl; sister Kristy Kuehnl; brother Todd Kuehnl; brother Eric Kuehnl; stepson Ryan Harper; and stepson Ray Harper.
