Michael Walter Janz, age 71, passed away on February 2nd, 2019 at The Kobacker House. Born on December 6th, 1947 to parents George and Jeanette Janz in St. Louis, Missouri, Michael had been a resident of Columbus, Ohio for the last 28 years.
He is preceded in death by parents George and Jeanette Janz and step-son David Wasielewski. Michael is survived by wife Doris (Feeherty) Janz, children Aimee (John) Inman, Lisa Hill, Joshua Lancaster, and Krystian Feeherty, multiple siblings, grandson Jacob Hill, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Michael is a retired St. Louis police officer who enjoyed sparking debates about politics and religion- especially when he was not supposed to! He was also a member of The New Life Church for the past 28 years, where he was passionate about teaching his Awana kids.
A memorial service will be held on February 9th, 2019 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, 2520 Poplar St., Highland Illinois, 62249. A second memorial service will be held on February 23rd, 2019 at the New Life Church, 3690 N Stygler, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230, at 11 am. Burial will take place at a later date in Highland, Illinois.
