Michael Church

Michael Church 63, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly from Plain City, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 after a courageous battle with a long term illness.  Michael was born July 7, 1954 in Marysville to Benjamin and Rhoda Church. He was the fourth of seven children.

He graduated from Jonathan Alder High School in 1973. Michael worked for Parker-Hannifin in Marysville for 37 years, where he gained lifelong friends and golf partners.

Survivors include his son Jeremy Church, of Columbus, Ohio; ex-wife Jamie Church, mother, Rhoda Church of Columbus, Ohio and six siblings: Lynn Church, Wayne Church (CA), Benjamin Church (CA), Kay Church, Sherri Church and Carol Mitchell (AZ); and 10 nieces and nephews. As well as, 8 great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father.

Michael was extremely proud of his son, Jeremy, and he was very loyal to his family and friends, the game of golf, appreciating nature and animals, working on his vintage vehicles and last but not least, the University of Michigan football and basketball programs. Michael will be remembered as an incredibly strong, hard-working and selfless man who brought joy to so many others over his lifetime. He will be sadly missed.

A memorial service with visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home.  Online condolences are welcome at
