CHANEY

Michael Albert Chaney, 73, passed away at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio on July 4, 2015, surrounded by his loved ones.  Michael is preceeded in death by his parents, Willard Orville and Dorothy Marie (Bloemer) Chaney and his sister, Pamela Ann Chaney-Land, all of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Cheryle Ann (Minnella) Chaney; daughters Susan Elizabeth (Dale) Pugh of Pataskala, Ohio and Melissa (Matt) Bugg of Urbanna, Ohio; brother Robert Raymond (Rosemarie) Chaney of Loveland, Ohio; and six grandchildren Jacob Matthew Bugg, Kathryn Annette Pugh, Dale Russell Pugh II, Hannah Elizabeth Bugg, George Carl Bugg and John (Jack) Joseph Pugh.  Michael was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Xavier High School. He attended the University of Dayton where he recieved a degree in engineering. Michael worked for various corporations during his career including R.G. Barry, Bank One, Cable Link and British Petroleum. He also operated his own business, Chaney and Associates, for a brief time.  Michael was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and recently was ordained to the office of Priest in the Aaronic Priesthood.  He enjoyed spending time at Sharon Woods Metro Park with his wife Cheryle and their dog, Max. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and traveling.  Michael will be greatly missed by his loved ones and his church family. A memorial service is being planned to be held at his church later this month.
