BANKS
Maxine Jackson Banks, born November 7, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio passed away on October 10, 2015 in Pickerington, Ohio. Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Jackson. Survived by her son John Alexander Banks Sr. (Ebonie Banks). Five grandchildren: Leonard C. Cain III, Terrence D. Banks, Anthony M. Banks, John A. Banks Jr., and Gerald D. Banks. Maxine is also survived by a sister, Shirley Anne Higgins of Gwinnett County, Georgia. Niece and Nephew, Pamela Lynn Higgins and John Randall (Randy) Higgins also of Gwinnett County, Georgia. Also, surviving cousins and great nieces and nephews in Youngstown, Ohio and Decatur, Georgia.
Maxine completed undergraduate studies at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, and graduate studies at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Maxine obtained a Masters in education in Counseling Education in 1969. She worked as a substitute teacher in Columbus Public Schools for 12 years. She was a Mental Health Coordinator, Therapist, and a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the Rehabilitation Services Commission.
Maxine was a Veteran of the United States Air Force (1958-1961)
Maxine is a believer. Contributions can be made to the Harmony Project, or the Homeless Veterans.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 22 from 11 am - 12 pm at the Rhema Christian Center, 2100 Agler Road, Columbus 43224.
