Mavis Lorraine Ashcraft, 82, born in Red Jacket, West Virginia on November 1, 1940, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 8, 2022. Mavis was known to have a huge heart as she was a foster parent and had over 200 foster children in her life. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Charles Ashcraft, Children Timothy, Tony and Thomas Markin, Grandkid Taylar Hopkins, Parents Herman and Daisy Edward Dudley, and Siblings that include 7 brothers and 7 sisters.

Mavis is survived by a host of loving family that includes her Children: Terri (Vaughn) Graham, Tina (Stephen) Battle, Samantha (Timotheus) Ashcraft, Tommy Markin, and Jane (Robert) Johnson. Grandchildren: Travis Lewis, Nicholas (Kimberly) Lewis, Jennifer (Carlos) Markin, Cheyenne and DeAngelo Bivens, Aryonnah Ashcraft, Demetri Bryant, Taz’ire Cain, and Kody and Eriq Hopkins. Great Grandchildren: Jadyn, Kamryn, Kaidon, A’niah Lewis, and Kayla Sims. Daughter in Law Lucy Markin. Family members: Gay Barton, Nella (Sharden) Sammons, David (Roxanne) Dudley, Elaine (Ed) Russell, a special niece Carolyn Stover, and many other nieces and nephews.
