Matthew Lywane Hunter, Jr. "Red", age 30, Sunrise Sept 6, 1989 in Sharon, PA – Sunset July 24, 2020 in Columbus, OH. Matthew loved his son more than anything. He was a great father, son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. He loved fishing, sports and was an avid OSU fan. He also enjoyed cooking, music and gambling. Matthew was know for saying ‘bum up’ and ‘beat ears up’.  Survived by life long partner Sara Conkel; son Matthew L. Hunter, III; step-son Adam Walters, Jr.; grandmothers Jacquelyn Sanders and Loretta Hunter; grandfather Sam Odem; mother Crystal Sanders; father Matthew L. Hunter, Sr.; dad Calvin (Shalonda) Upchurch, Sr; siblings Tia Hunter, Shaquille Upchurch, Matthew Williams; nieces Na’Riyah Sloan, Arianna Howard, Tra’Niyah Benton, Nyla Upchurch, Brooklyn Johnson, Ailani Upchurch and Izabella Hunter; nephews Trayvon Benton, Rayshawn Sanders, Donavin Sanders, Calvin Upchurch III, Antonyio Upchurch and Amias Carson. Preceded in death great-grandparents Mary and John Odem; grandparents George Hunter, Sr and Ruddell and Eddie Upchurch; siblings DaAunta Upchurch and Calvin Upchurch, Jr. Officiating Pastor Calvin Upchurch, Sr. Private family visitation on Friday 10:30 am at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Homes, Short North Chapel, 34 W 2nd Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43201. A funeral processional to Eastlawn Cemetery, 1340 Woodland Ave, Columbus, OH 43219 will be forming at the funeral home around 11:15 am for a 11:30 am departure. Friends and other family members are welcome to gather in their vehicle outside the funeral home.
