Matthew Brian Allen (M. Dot) 38 of Westerville Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Feb 28th, 2022. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio September 27, 1983 to Carol and Larry Allen. He is survived by siblings Erick Shepard, Larry Allen II (Angel Ortiz), and Bennie Allen-Stanford (Tory Stanford).
In addition to mother, aunts, uncles, and siblings, Matt is survived by Nieces Alissa Allen (great nephew KJ West), nieces Broquelynn Shepard, and Christine Simmons Shepard. Nephews Emmanuel Leath, Lawrence Allen (LA3), Sorien Allen, Sirius Allen, Daniel Allen, Silas Allen, and Declan Allen. Matt is also survived by special family friend Ricco Fagein, friends Isaac Jordan, Dane “Benjamin” Greer, Jeff Montgomery, Russel Stanford, a girlfriend Emily Kopcial, and a host of honorary nieces and nephews.
Matt is proceeded in death by father Larry Allen, grandfather D.C. Allen, and uncles Dennis and Peter Allen.
Matt graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 2002. He went on to play football for Ohio Northern on a football scholarship before graduating in 2008 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Matt spent his life being an uncle to every kid that met him. He cherished his memories spent working at the Friendly House and “Mr. Matt” always put others before himself. He enjoyed making music with his closest friends, playing sports, and working with children. He was an avid diver for Linden pool, Liberty pool, and Wooldridge pool. In addition to playing college football Matt can be remember as #5 defense end for Mansfield Senior High.
Services will be held at 11am March 9th, 2022 at the Oasis of Love Church (face mask required and social distancing enforced). Memorial to follow at the Community Center 486 Springmill St from 1-4pm. Following memorial friends and family can continue to gather at Matts sisters house.
