Mary Dishon

d. April 22, 2017

On April 22nd, 2017 Mary Ellen (Rensch) Dishon, age 71, of Lima, Ohio and formerly of Findlay, Ohio purchased tickets to that great rock concert on the other side with front row seats to see all of those amazing artists we’ve lost through the years.

In her younger days, Mary was a member of the Ohio Corvette Club and raced corvettes around the state. She loved the speed and excitement of the racing scene and admired Shirley “Cha Cha” Muldowney. This carried on as a theme throughout her life as she was an avid fan of NASCAR and followed Tony Stewart Racing, Stewart-Haas Racing and the career of Rusty Wallace religiously. She enjoyed music of all genres and attended concerts as recently as last year including bands such as Alice Cooper, The Hollywood Vampires, Roxie 77 & Beasto Blanco. She also liked Queen w/ both Freddie Mercury and Adam Lambert. She relaxed through gardening, creating art through various mediums such as oil painting and charcoal sketching, and restoring vintage composition dolls. Mary also enjoyed antiques and collectibles, chasing bargains at antique, thrift & junk stores as well as flea markets. She delighted in the thrill of the hunt. Another hobby of hers was to contribute to various Findlay historical groups on Facebook and Mary proudly supported the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

She attended school at the old Howard School Building and then Central High School in Findlay, Ohio graduating with the class of 1963 and later in life received an Associate’s Degree from Stautzenberger College. She was a factory worker having devoted many years to Consolidated Biscuit Company in McComb, Ohio, in both the production and administrative departments prior to retiring.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Monique R. (Jeffrey S.) Exton of Elida, a brother, Robert E. (Debra) Rensch II of Dayton, two beautiful granddaughters she loved dearly: Meghan Racquel (Matthew T.) Gonzalez of Okinawa, Japan and Mercedes R. (Josh Kline) Hart of Elida and two wonderful great-grandsons who were the light of her life: Marcus Scott and Myles Rene’ Gonzalez also currently residing in Okinawa, Japan. Another great-grandchild is expected in September.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Magdalene (Howard) and Robert Eugene Rensch, Findlay, Ohio and a great-granddaughter, Melody Raelynn Kline of Elida as well as her best Persian kitty, Jumpin’ Jack Flash lovingly known as “Jay Jay”. Maternal & paternal grandparents and great grandparents from the Howard, Rensch/Solomon and Eiler families also preceded Mary.

There will be no services or viewing. Per her wishes, Mary will be cremated in accordance to her Native American heritage and will travel the world to visit places she was unable to reach in life. A part of her will remain with each living family member. In lieu of flowers to the family, friends wishing to do so may make a memorial donation in Mary’s name to one of the following organizations:

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society

The American Cancer Society

The Hancock County Historical Museum
