Mary Ann Barnett, beloved wife, went home to Jesus on July 21, 2021 at the age of 74. Mary was preceded in death by parents Betty Bothman and Walter E. Flowers, brothers Michael Flowers and George Ferris, son Shawn Heaney and brother-in-law Bob Harper. She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughters, Tamara Heaney and Brittany (Phillip) Dunning; daughter-in-law, Christy Heaney; four grandchildren, Thomas Gillotte Jr., Rachel (Joshua) Heaney, Cody Vandine and Andrea Heaney; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Sophia and Elijah Fox; siblings, Debra (Bob) Harper; Lynn (Ed) Glodgit; Mark (Judy) Ferris; Paul Ferris; David Ferris; JoAnn (William) Cox; Barbara Benbow; David Lyons; Uncle Larry (Judy) Flowers; Aunt Norma (Ronnie) Hasier and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1965 and following graduation worked in daycare, the skincare industry and Lazarus Department Stores. Mary met her husband, Richard Barnett in 1978 and recently celebrated 42 years of marriage June, 2021.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary loved spending time with family and friends around their pool and having cookouts in the summertime. Mary was an avid dog person and enjoyed her faithful companions Cuddles, Bear, Lily and Bella. Mary was an Ohio State football fan and enjoyed Star Wars and Disney movies especially the Pirates of the Caribbean.
Throughout her Christian journey, she held an unwavering and steadfast faith in God with whom she shared with those in her life.
Viewing hours will be held Thursday, July 29th from 4-6 pm at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home Clintonville Chapel, 4341 N. High St, Columbus, Ohio 43214. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, July 30th at 11 am at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home Clintonville Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Blendon Central Cemetery 6330 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081.
A reception will be held Friday, July 30th at 2 pm at the Moose Lodge Banquet Hall, 1970 Schrock Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Mary in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association.
