Martha Glessner

On August 26, 2021, Martha Esther Glessner departed this earthly life, and entered her eternal home in Heaven by Grace through her Faith in her Risen Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.  Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Millard and Martha Glessner, and her sister, Dorcas E. Swanger (Robert).  She is survived by her sisters, Eunice (Norman) Preston, Lois (Louis) Birr, and Miriam Glessner. “Aunt Marty” is also survived by several nieces and nephews, by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and by many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. The summertime pool parties she and Miriam hosted in her backyard instilled many happy memories and are sadly missed by all family members.

Martha was a faithful, supporting member of Christ Lutheran Church in Bexley. She was a graduate of Capital University, and a retired elementary school teacher. She loved OSU football and watched as many live and re-run games as possible. Go Bucks!

Martha rescued and adopted many dogs and cats over the years.  She cherished each one as part of her family. She also delighted in her many Coy fish thriving in her backyard pond. Martha’s beloved service dog, Kovi, and her cat, Josie, also mourn her absence, but each has been adopted to a new “forever home” according to her wishes.

All are invited to visit as family and friends at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Christ Lutheran Church, 2314 E. Main Street, Bexley, Ohio.  A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Tim Iseringhausen officiating.  All are invited to attend.
