Marilyn Ransom was one of the few minority USO volunteers that would dance with the soldiers of color at the  Valley Dale Ballroom along  with her late sister Patricia Ransom, during World War II, and The Korean War. Also as a single mother, She was also always inventing inventions, to pick up heavy items and making everyday life more accessible. She also use to work at Historical Mills Restaurant  downtown Columbus, Ohio , along side of  Dave Thomas.  My mother had a big heart she loved to care for children over the years.Truly she had a servants heart. She would never let people be alone on the holidays. My mother would invite many World Harvest Bible college students ,homeless ,or just need people to her house eat and fellowship. No one ever felt unwanted  or alone when my mother was around. She would always offer an encouraging word to help.

She loved God and rejected worldly things. Mom was an awesome mother who always took care of her family.  She raised 3 children on a modest income and provided us with love and compassion; putting their needs before her own many times. She had a  love for people and a heart for taking care of animals. Mom you will  be missed and always in our hearts. Love you always.
